KAU President visits Islamic Crescents' Observation and Moon Research Chair in Makkah

KAU President, Prof Osama S. Tayyeb, paid a visit to observation deck of the Islamic Crescents' Observation and Moon Research Chair hosted by the Makkah Royal Hotel Clock Tower, part of the King Abdulaziz Endowment Project in the holy city of Makkah.
Accompanied by a group of senior KAU executives Prof Tayyeb, was briefed on the Chair's activities by the Chair's supervisor, Dr Yassin Almelaiki.
According to Dr Almelaiki, the Chair provides a number of services, including crescent visibility for both new and old crescents and accurate calculations of astronomical events such as sun times and moon times and phases.
