Cooperation agreement between KAU and SPA inked

 
 
 
King Abdulaziz University President, Prof Osama S. Tayyeb, and Dr Abdullah bin Fahd Al Hussein, President of the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) signed on Sunday 11th May at the University's headquarters a cooperation agreement on the exchange of experiences between the two sides in the fields of development and training of human cadres.

Prof Tayyeb said in statements after the signing of the ceremony that the agreement was triggered by the desire to strengthen cooperation between the university and the agency in the field of covering news and taking advantage of what is available to both sides of expertise and equipment that can be invested in covering events organised by the university and having a positive impact on the specialists and the society as a whole.

The agreement also provides that KAU media students will be allowed to receive extensive training on various news and journalistic arts at SPA.

 On his part, Dr Hussein pointed out that according to the terms of the agreement SPA would make use of the expertise of KAU academics and would also cover KAU's research activities through SPA news activities.

The signing ceremony was attended by Prof Abdurrahman Alyoubi, KAU Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr Sahrea Al-Bogami, KAU's Official Spokesman, and Mr Sultan Al-Harithi, Chief executive of SPA's office in Jeddah.  

The agreement is in tune with a policy of forging partnerships with major institutions in the best interest of KAU's  affiliates and the community at large.
